About CICADA IR

CICADA was built by three practitioners who've spent their careers defending organisations — not selling to them. Over 30 years in cybersecurity and longer in enterprise technology, spanning incident response, security operations, and governance frameworks including ISO 27001, ACSC Essential Eight, and NIST CSF.

We've run tabletop and functional exercises alongside industry-leading security vendors, and we've kept the bad actors out. Commercially fluent. Academically certified. Technically deep. We built the tool we wished existed during every investigation that took longer than it should have.

CICADA exists because when a breach hits, the CEO asks the same questions every time — what happened, how did they get in, what did they touch, which customers were affected, was PII compromised — and no tool or team on the market could answer fast enough. So we built one that can.

Why the name? The cicada spends years underground, silent and unseen, before rising at precisely the right moment. We built our platform with the same philosophy — always present, quietly prepared, and ready to surface the instant an incident demands action.
